Goals for fall

This weekend somehow became a flurry of activity and I forgot to blog :(! Oh no! I MUST rectify this immediately!

So since I've got no work prospects on the direct horizon, I've been thinking a lot about other things I want to do while I wait for something to come up. So I'm starting to set some goals for myself for the fall... Here are some I've thought of so far:

1. I've been really captivated by the whole "365" thing people are doing on Flickr, where they take a self-portrait every day for a year. (some favourites: audrey hutchinson and lauren lemon... I love this photo because it was her birthday shot and she has the same birthday as me!) Some of these photos are absolutely amazing, and I can see how it gives people a great motivation to keep creativity in their life on a daily basis. I really want to do something like this, but I have no idea how to take good self-portraits! So a new goal: get a tripod, get a remote, and learn to take self-portraits! This may also help me solve the problem of wanting to make pretty portraits of people but having no friends that will let me take lots of pictures of them...

2. I'm writing again. Goal: to keep going! There's a story building here somewhere...

3. Keep up with my autumn craft class no matter what happens with work. I know when I start working again it's going to be hard, but I REALLY want to keep my creativity going and it's such a great opportunity to learn new things... like crocheting! and embroidery!

I'll be adding to the list as time goes on, I'm sure. For now, I will leave you with some picture love from some quality friend and crafting time with Matina (sooo in love with e.e. cummings and I want to paint a whole series with his poems in them... Ah, another thing to add to the list: actually learn to paint in a more technical way than just going at a canvas with paint. I'd love to be able to properly plan things out, and know more about my materials.)

And Matina got really into taking pictures through this funny camera prism my last boss gave me. She took several dozen... this is my favourite.

Lovelovelove...
